The board has warned that any franchise associating itself with barred brands could face stringent actions. A total of 87 players were bought during the inaugural auction by the 5 teams to complete the squad.

All 5 participating teams will announce different unique logos with various reasons for the usage of the colours or names.

WPL Live Streaming 2023: Only Viacom18 and Disney Star bid for the media rights of WPL. Where Viacom’s INR 951 crore bid defeats Star’s bid of INR 98 crore (only digital).

Viacom 18 had also secured the digital rights of the men’s IPL for the subcontinent region (for INR 23,757.5 crore or USD 3.04 billion) and both the TV and digital rights across three global regions – Australia + New Zealand, the UK and South Africa – (for INR 1058 crore or USD 135.49 million) last June.

The media rights income is an integral part of the revenues both the BCCI and the franchises earn, as seen in the IPL. The BCCI has once again decided to stick to the same revenue-sharing formula it utilised in the IPL for distribution to franchises from the central revenue pool.

“The BCCI shall pay the franchisee 80% of all Central Team Licensing Income every year,” a board said in the ITT. “BCCI shall pay the franchisees 80% share of Central Rights income in first five years, 60% in next five years and 50% post that.”
