The solid knocks from Sobhana Mostary and Rubya Haider have helped Bangladesh to post 198 runs during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 clash against Australia at Vizag.
On the other hand, the Australian women did put up a commanding performance and went on to restrict Nigar Sultana’s side to 198 runs in their innings.
Batting first, Fargana Hoque and Rubya Haider went on to open the innings for Bangladesh, where Hoque got dismissed for 8 runs by Megan Schutt.
However, Haider gave a solid start, scoring 44 runs before being dismissed by Ashleigh Gardner.
After Sharmin Akhter and Nigar Sultana went back to the dugout for 19 and 12 runs after being dismissed by Ash Gardner and Alana King.
However, Sobhana Mostary went on to post a fifty while other batters got dismissed regularly which did affect Bangladesh’s run flow at Vizag.
All other batters, Shorna Akhter, Ritu Moni and Fahima Khatun got dismissed cheaply while the low order batters Rabeya Khan and Nishita Akter couldn’t able to contribute much.
By the end of 50 overs, Bangladesh scored 198 runs with Australia’s Ash Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Alana King and Georgia Wareham bagged two wickets each.

Speaking at the toss, Nigar Sultana said, “We wanted to bat first. Seeing the conditions we wanted to put runs on the board. We were short on 30-40 runs in the last game. We have two changes.”
“The thing is we do have a good bowling side. We had to give rest so that they can recover for the last few games. Hard to recover I know. We wont compromise on any game..,” concluded Nigar Sultana.
Meanwhile Alyssa Healy said, “Look I would have loved to bat. Good breeze, would help the girls. Beautiful place to play cricket. Great crowd. Two changes. Darcie Brown gets the nod and am happy to see what she does.”
