Former WK-Batter Shreevat Goswami has posted two videos on his social media handle to allege match-fixing in the Kolkata League Cricket.

Gowasmi was part of the Virat Kohli-led Under-19 World Cup Winning team in 2008 has posted two videos on his Facebook page, which were from the match between Mohammedan Sporting and Town Club. The Cricketer has claimed that Mohammedan Sporting batters have intentionally thrown away their wickets to concede seven points to Town Club.

Town Club is associated with former Indian Cricket team manager Debabrata Das, CAB secretary. Das was the Indian team’s administrative manager during India’s tour of England in 2022.

The right-hand batter is seen leaving the delivery that hit the stumps. The other video shows the left-hand batter shimmying down the track against a wide delivery to be stumped.

“This is a Super Division match in Kolkata Club Cricket, two big teams doing this, any idea what’s going on here? I am ashamed to see this having played the game that is so close to my heart.”

“I love cricket and I love playing in Bengal but looking at this breaks my heart. Club cricket is the heart and soul of Bengal cricket please don’t ruin it. I think this is called ‘got up’ cricket. Where is the media now?” Goswami posted.

Das did not make any comment on the allegations but CAB President Snehasish Ganguly has asked for a report of umpires.

“We have called a tournament committee meeting on March 2 to take up the matter,” Ganguly said. Shakib Habib Gandhi’s knock of 223 runs helped Town Club to score 446 runs.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting was restricted to 281 runs with Joyjit Basu emerging as the top-scorer with his century. But the Sporting line-up collapsed after the departure of Joyjit Basu.
