The right-handed batsman Sarfaraz Khan went unsold during the mini-auction last year in Dubai. Sarfaraz Khan has been with various franchises like Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Banglore, and Delhi Capitals since his IPL debut in 2015.

He played around 50 matches so far in the Indian league and amassed 585 runs with an average of 22.50. During IPL 2023 he played four matches for Delhi Capitals to score 53 runs.

However, things started to change after his test debut in the ongoing England series where he scored fifties in both the innings of the recently concluded Rajkot Test.

He smashed 66 runs off 66 deliveries in the first innings and unbeaten 68 runs of 72 deliveries in the second innings. On this occasion, it is reported that KKR is interested in the player for IPL 2024.

It is said that Gautam Gambhir has pushed the decision to sign the batsman. The former KKR captain has advised the franchise to sign the batter to strengthen the batting order.

Sarfaraz Khan has been impressive over the domestic circuit and had an excellent start in his international career. He was the topic during the start of the third test but was sent out with a run-out mix-up with Jadeja.

He played 46 FC matches til now and amassed 4042 runs in the format with a high score of 301* runs. He played 37 List A matches scoring 629 runs with a high score of 117 and featured in 96 T20s to score 1188 runs.

Apart from these rumors, KKR has named Chameera as Atkinson’s replacement for IPL 2024. Unlike Atkinson, LSG’s player Mark Wood has been withdrawn from the tournament and Shamar Joseph was named as a replacement in the squad.

With the IPL dates being confirmed and starting on March 22, the IPL 2024 schedule is not yet announced as the dates coincide with the local elections in India. BCCI is working on the schedule and will be announced soon.
