    Saim Ayub, Farhan’s Knocks Scripts Pakistan 2-1 Series Win Over West Indies

    Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan’s 138-run opening partnership has led Pakistan to a 13-run victory over the West Indies.

    The visitors secured a 2-1 victory in the T20I leg of the Pakistan tour of the West Indies 2025 and will prepare for the ODI leg.

    Batting first, Pakistan posted 189 runs on the scoreboard in their 20-over innings. The Pakistan openers, Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, made a solid start, troubling West Indies bowlers.

    Farhan scored 74 runs off 53 deliveries, which included five sixes and three fours, while Ayub went on to bat till the 19th over, finishing with 66 runs off 49 deliveries, including two sixes and four fours.

    Farhan was sent out by Shamar Joseph on the second delivery of the 17th over. Hasan Nawaz came in but was dismissed for 15 runs, caught by Romario Shepherd at long-off from a Roston Chase delivery on the penultimate ball of the 18th over.

    Haris was sent back to dug out on a run out for just two runs by Gudakesh Motie at the start of the 19th over.

    In the pursuit of chasing 190 run target, Jewel Andrew and Alick Athanaze opened the innings, while Hasan Ali opened the bowling attack.

    With Jewel Andrew’s dismissal for 24 runs, Athanaze went on to score 60 runs off 40 deliveries which included 8 fours and 1 sixes.

    After Shai Hope’s dismissal for 7 runs, Athanaze got dismissed by Saim Ayub.

    Meanwhile Sherfane Rutherford went on to slam 51 runs off 35 deliveries and Roston Chase went out after being hurt.

    Sufiyaan dismissed Jason Holder for 0 and Romario Shepherd and Gudakes Motie remained unbeaten with 4* and 10* respectively as West Indies scored only 176 runs in their 20 over innings.

    Sahibzada Farhan was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match conference, he said, “Whenever I make runs, my team wins and I am very happy with that. The conditions weren’t different but Saim Ayub and I wanted to take the game on and keep scoring whenever there was an opportunity.”

    “I enjoy batting with Saim, we help each other, we are looking forward to forge many more century partnerships. Happy to have won two out of the last three series. We are focusing on the tri-nation series which is next month and Asia Cup,” Farhan concluded.

    Pakistan and West Indies will involve in ODI series with the first ODI to be played on August 8 at Brian Lara Stadium.
