Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is likely to receive the CK Nayudu award by the BCCI at the annual awards function on February 01.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri was the last recipient of the awards in 2024.
The BCCI has yet to officially confirm the development, but sources with the Indian board have revealed to the media that Tendulkar will be felicitated for his lifetime achievement award at the Naman BCCI awards function in Mumbai on Saturday.
Tendulkar has played 463 ODIs, one T20I and 200 tests to score 34,357 runs with 100 international centuries.
Tendulkar also received with Bharat Ratna in 2014, the highest civilian award in the country.
Lala Amarnath, Syed Mushtaq Ali, Vijay Hazare, KN Prabhu, Hemu Adhikari, Subhash Gupte, MAK Pataudi, BB Nimbalkar, Chandu Borde, Bishan Singh Bedi, S Venkataraghavan, EAS Prasanna, BS Chadrasekhar, Mohinder Amarnath, Salim Durani, Ajit Wadekar, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Dilip Vengsarkar, Syed Kirmani, Rajinder Goel, Padmakar Shivalkar, K Srikkanth and Farookh Engineer are the cricketers who have been conferred the CK Nayudu award for lifetime achievement so far.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association is being honoured for the best association in domestic cricket. Notably, Mumbai has won the Ranji Trophy for the 42nd time.
“Mumbai Cricket Association will be honored with the Best Performance in BCCI Domestic Tournaments (2023-24) award at the BCCI Annual Awards – Naman 2023-24.”
“This recognition reflects Mumbai’s dominance in domestic cricket, including the Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup triumphs, and celebrates the relentless spirit of our players, support staff and administrators,” the MCA said in a statement.
