Rohit Sharma becomes the first player to score more than one century for MI

Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma becomes the first player to score more than one century for Mumbai Indians in IPL. Rohit achieved this massive feat during the MI vs CSK clash on April 14 in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma with his aggressive knock showed some hope in chasing the CSK’s 206 runs target but Matheesha Pathirana’s impressive bowling spell scattered Mumbai’s dream. Rohit scored an unbeaten 105 runs from 63 balls at a strike rate of 166.67 which includes 11 boundaries and 5 sixes.

With this century, HITMAN becomes the first player to score more than one century for Mumbai Indians in the IPL history. Rohit’s first IPL century came in the 2012 season against Kolkata Knight Riders where Rohit won the player of the match award after MI won the game by 27 runs.

Notably, with his 2012 IPL century, Rohit becomes the first Mumbai Indians player to score a century in an away venue. Prior to him, Sanath Jayasuriya(vs CSK in 2008) and Sachin Tendulkar(vs KTK in 2011) scored a century each in the home venue.

After scoring a century against CSK in Wankhede Stadium, Rohit becomes the first Mumbai Indians player to score a century in both home and away venue. Rohit also equals the 16-year-long record by becoming the second Mumbai Indians player to an IPL century against Chennai Super Kings.

Sanath Jayasuriya became the first player to score an IPL century against CSK in 2008 which MI won by 9 wickets with 37 balls remaining.
