Rehan Ahmed has been named as the replacement player for the injured Brydon Carse for the remainder of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Brydon Carse sustained the injury during England’s opening Group B match against Australia on Saturday in Lahore. Carse returned expensive in that game, with figures of 0/69 from seven overs.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Monday confirmed that Brydon Carse has been ruled out for the remainder of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy due to a left toe injury.
The ICC statement reads “The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has approved Rehan Ahmed as a replacement for Brydon Carse in the England squad.
Ahmed, who has played six ODIs, was named as a replacement after Carse was ruled out due to an injury to the toe. The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the player can be officially added to the squad.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 consists of Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket), Sarah Edgar (ICC Senior Manager – Events), Usman Wahla (PCB Director – International Cricket Operations), Shaun Pollock (Independent Representative)”.

England who still waits to register their maiden victory in Champions Trophy 2025 will play their second game of the edition against Afghanistan on February 26 in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
