    Pratika Rawal Named in India Squad for Australia Test

    The BCCI selection committee has unveiled the India Squad for the Australia Test, which is set to be played in March 2026, and features the return of Pratika Rawal to international cricket after her injury during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.

    Harmanpreet Kaur-led India squad will be touring Australia to play a multi-format tour comprising three T20Is, ODIs and one four-day test. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana has been named as deputy for the squad.

    Pratika Rawal, Amanjot Kaur, Kranti Gaud, Vaishnavi Sharma and Sayali Satghare are set to make their debut in Test.

    Rawal sustained a hairline fracture to her right ankle and has been out of action since then. Pratika Rawal who was part of the UP Warriorz squad in ongoing WPL 2026, with the team still awaiting a medical clearance from BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.

    Shafali Verma who replaced in Pratika Rawal in the semi finals and finals of the marquee event, retains her place in the Test team. She has opened alongside vice-captain Smriti Mandhana in India’s last five tests and also scored a career best 205 against South Africa in her previous Test outing.

    Harleen Deol also returns to test team having last featured in tests against England and Australia in 2023. However, she is yet to make her test debut.

    Amanjot Kaur along with Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues will feature in the middle order.

    Richa Ghosh and Uma Chetry will India’s wicketkeeper options. Meanwhile Chetry has alos been named in India squad for ODI and T20Isas replacement for G Kamalini, who was recently ruled out of the WPL due to shoulder injury.

    Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana and Vaishnavi are the spin options while Renuka Thakur, Kranti Gaud and All-rounder Amanjot Kaur are the seam options in the team.

    On the other hand, Saika Ishaque, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Meghna Singh and Priya Punia, who were all part of the Test squad against South Africa, are the players to miss out.
