The Pakistan Women went on to dominate the field during the game against Australia in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 played on October 08 at Colombo.
They went on to create a mini collapse in Australia’s batting order as the mighty Aussies lost half of their side for scoring 60 runs.
After choosing to bowl first, Pakistan went on to hunt for wickets bagging the wickets of openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield within the powerplay.
With Sadia Iqbal bagged the wicket of Healy for 20 runs, Fatima Sana striked to dismiss Litchfield for 10 runs.
Nashra Sandhu went on to extend Pakistan’s dominance bagging the wickets of Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland for 5 and 1 runs respectively.
With Rameen Shamim sending back Ashleigh Gardner cheaply for 1 run, Australia stuttered to score runs and went on to lose back to back wickets.

By Gardner’s dimsissal, Australia lost 5 wickets for 60 runs. Pakistan did not stop there as Nashra Sandhu bagged the wickets of Tahlia McGarth and Rameen Shamim sent back Georgia Wareham.
Speaking at the toss, Fatima Sana, “Going to bowl first. Conditions suit spinners and pitch looks very dry. Will try to execute better plans today. Aliya Riaz is out and Eyman Fatima is in. She’s a powerhitter.”
Meanwhile Alyssa Healy said, “Was looking to have a bat anyway. Two changes: Wareham and Schutt back in. Darcie Brown and Molineux out. We knew Soph was going to have to be managed throughout the tournament.”
