PAK vs SL 1st ODI Playing 11: Shaheen Afridi-led Pakistan will square off against Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI match on November 11 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have met in 157 ODI games, where Pakistan has won on 93 occasions, while Sri Lanka has only 59 wins. The hosts are beginning their camp with a positive note after a 2-1 series win against South Africa and will be aiming to replicate the same.
This will be the first fixture between Sri Lanka and Pakistan since the 2023 ODI World Cup, played in Hyderabad, where the Men in Greens secured a 6-wicket victory.
Pakistan will be hosting Sri Lanka in an ODI series before a T20I tri-nation series, which involves both teams along with Zimbabwe.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking on the toss, Asalanka said, “We are going to bowl first. The dew might come later on, so we have decided to bowl first. Not much difference. Hasaranga is back in the side. Just need to keep doing the good things. Kamil Mishara (opener) is making his ODI debut today.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan ODI Captain Shaheen Afridi said, ” We also wanted to bowl first because of the dew. We played some very good cricket in the last series. In Pindi it’s a high-scoring game. Only one change for us. Naseem Shah is in as Abrar is not feeling well.”
