The Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning has said that she isn’t thinking too much about the past matches ahead of the WPL 2025 finals against Mumbai Indians.
The two teams are all set to lock horns in the finals of the tournament on Saturday, March 15 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Ahead of the Summit clash, Delhi Capitals are desperate to lay hands on the WPL trophy after finishing as runners-up of the previous two editions.
In the pre-match conference, Meg Lanning said, “It’s really irrelevant what’s happened in the past, even in the round games this year. They don’t count for anything. It’s about performing tomorrow night.
“We’re excited about the opportunity that we’ve given ourselves to go out there and play our best game for the tournament,” said Meg Lanning.

Furthermore, the DC captain expressed delight at the fact that her team has had different performers throughout the tournament and said that they will put DC under pressure.
“I think throughout the whole year we’ve had different people step up at different times. I don’t feel like we rely on one or two players, and that gives us a lot of confidence heading into tomorrow’s game. No matter whose night it is, we’ll be able to deliver and really put Mumbai under pressure,” she added.
Delhi Capitals made another impressive season as they managed to reach the final of WPL for the third successive time. The two-time runner ups finished on the top of the points table for third time in a row and with five wins from eight matches to secure 10 points.
Delhi Capitals have advantage over Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians having four wins out of seven meetings. Moreover, they’ve won their last three appearances against Mumbai and will be eager to continue their winning streak in all important final.
