The fast bowler Matt Henry has been officially ruled out of the fourth and fifth T20I of the Pakistan tour of New Zealand 2025.
Henry who injured his right shoulder while driving in the outfield during New Zealand’s ICC Champions Trophy semi-final win against South Africa. The injury along with an ongoing knee issue, forced him to miss the tournament’s final against India.
The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) released a statement on Saturday to confirm the experienced quick’s omission from the series, “Matt Henry has been ruled out of the remainder of the KFC T20I series against Pakistan as he continues his injury rehabilitation programme. Zak Foulkes has been retained for the remaining two matches of the series.”
Despite a shoulder injury, Matt Henry was included in New Zealand’s squad for the fourth and fifth T20Is against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Kyle Jamieson’s absence in the last two games has been a notable tweak in the squad. He was named as the Player of the Match performance in the series opener with searing figures of 3/38.
New Zealand are currently leading the series 2-1 after the first three games. The hosts kicked off the five match affair with back-to-back wins, but Men in Greens bounced back in the third clash by chasing down a herculean 205-run total and sealing a 9-wicket win, keeping the series alive.
The fourth match of the five match T20I series will be played on March 23 at Bay Oval.
