Mark Boucher set Deadline for AB De Villiers return to International matches

    AB De Villiers possible comeback

The 35-year-old South African player AB De Villiers had announced his retirement from international cricket on May 23, 2018. However, he tried to stage a comeback in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 but was not able to reach an agreement with the management.

He gets his last chance to get in to the International team for the last time. South Africa’s head coach Mark Boucher has given AB De Villiers a deadline of June 1 to make himself available for the selection. Where he could make his international return for the Proteas lineup against Sri Lanka this year.

    Deadline for other players too

Imran Tahir and Chris Morris are the other players who have been given the deadline along with AB De Villiers to make themself available if they want to make their slot in upcoming T20I World cup match. “The big one is the IPL so we decided to let those guys – the free agents if you want to call them that – do the IPL and then afterwards make themselves available,”Boucher added.

    Corona affect the game?

South Africa has been scheduled to play ODI series against India this month before IPL. South Africa announced the 15 member squad for the India’s tour. Though India has been affected by coronavirus BCCI president Ganguly claims that it wont affect the South African tour to India as well as the same in IPL.

    Boucher’s statement

“We’ve still got quite a few games (before the World Cup). From the first of June, which is the Sri Lanka tour, those guys need to make themselves available. Whether we select them is another story. But they need to make themselves available if they want to put their hands up for a World Cup spot,” he added.

“I would love to. I’ve been talking to “Bouch” (new South Africa coach Mark Boucher), (new director of cricket) Graeme Smith and (captain) Faf (du Plessis) back home, we’re all keen to make it happen,” cricket.com.au had quoted De Villiers as saying.

“So I’m thinking of throwing my name in the hat and hoping that everything will work out,” he added.

After IPL AB de Villiers will be available for the selection to book a slot in the International match. Hope to see Mr.360 back in international matches soon especially in upcoming T20I World cup match.
