Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy’s knocks have helped Bangladesh to post a 7-wicket victory in the Asia Cup 2025 game against Hong Kong on September 11 at Abu Dhabi.
Litton Das’s half-century and Hridoy’s unbeaten 35 runs off 36 deliveries helped the side to start the Asia Cup campaign on a positive note. Bangladesh secured second spot in Group B of the Asia Cup 2025 points table.
After being put to bat first, Hong Kong’s Zeeshan Ali and Anshuman Rath opened the innings while Mahedi Hasan opened the bowling attack.
Taskin Ahmed picked the wicket of Rath for 4 runs, Babar Hayat lost his wicket for 14 runs to Tanzim Hasan.
Tanzim Hasan went on bag the wicket of Zeeshan Ali for 30 runs whild Yasim Murtaza lost his wicket for 28 runs on a run out.
With the dismissal of Nizakhat Khan for 42 runs, Aizaz Khan, Kinchit Shah lost their wickets for 5 and 0.
Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain picked two wickets each for the side to restrict Hong Kong for 143 runs in their 20 over innings.

In the pursuit of chasing 144 runs, Parvez Hossain and Tanzid Hasan opened the innings while Ayush Shukla opened the bowling attack.
Despite the dismissals of openers for 19 and 14 runs respectively, Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy went on to complete the game in the 18th over.
Litton Das went on to smash his half century scoring 59 runs off 39 deliveries while Towhid Hridoy scored unbeaten 35 runs off 36 deliveries guiding the side to post seven wicket victory.
Litton Das was named as the Player of the match. Speaking on the post match conference, he said, “It was important to win the first game. We have played some good cricket in the last two series, but the Asia Cup can be a different pressure.”
“We played very well today. In the last few years our pace bowling department has done very well, and all we were looking for was a leg spinner and Rishad has done very well,” Das added.
“The wicket was a bit on the slow side so we had to play carefully in the middle overs, and make the most of the big ground with the singles and doubles,” Litton Das concluded.
Pakistan and Oman will play in the next match of the Asia Cup 2025 on September 11 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
