The wk-batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius has slammed his maiden test century during his debut in the first match of South Africa’s tour of Zimbabwe 2025 on June 28.
He broke the previous record held by Graeme Pollock, who was 19 year and 317 days old during a match against Australia in 1964 in Sydney. Lhuan-dre Pretorius rapid fire knock has helped South Africa recover from an early collapse, which saw the side reduced to 55 for four in the first session.
He showed intent early launching the fourth ball he faced down the ground for six.

The 18 year old left handed batter, Lhuan-dre Pretorius has been a standout performer in South Africa’s domestic and age-group cricket. He rose through the ranks of the country’s elite school system and was already in the South Africa U-19 setup before finishing school.
He spent most of his school years at St Stithians, before moving to Cornwall Hill in Pretoria for his final year. His performance at the 2023 U19 World Cup made him South Africa’s top run-scorer in the tournament. He made his first class debut with the Titans the same year.
Pretorius also impressed in white-ball formats. In the 2023 CSA T20 Knockout challenge, he was the sixth highest run-scorer He made his T20 debut with Paarl Royals in January 2025, making a stellar knock of 97 on his debut.
Coming to the game, South Africa’s top order collapsed and lost four quick wickets. However, Lhuan-dre Pretorius stabilized the innings batting along with Dewald Brevis.
Meanwhile Dewald Brevis went on to slam a fifty in his test debut before being dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani.
