Indian cricketer KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty has been blessed with a baby girl on March 24, 2025. The couple confirmed the news on their official Instagram handle. KL Rahul skipped the Delhi Capitals’ opening game in IPL 2025 to be with his family.
KL Rahul who lost his spot in India’s T20I lineup has been in excellent form recently and was one of India’s exceptional players in India’s Champions Trophy triumph in Dubai.
During the CT2025 in Dubai, KL Rahul stated that he will work towards reclaiming his T20I spot in the national team.
Notably, before joining Delhi Capitals camp in Visakhapatnam, the right-hander trained in Mumbai under India’s assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. But unfortunately, KL Rahul missed out on the Delhi Capitals’ opening game and KL’s last-minute pull-out created a controversy in the camp.
Later KL Rahul’s family friend revealed that “He has returned home to be with his wife, as the baby is expected any time. However, he is certain to be available for the team’s next game”.
The Indian batter rushed back home to Mumbai on Sunday night upon learning that his wife, Athiya Shetty, could give birth at any moment. However, he is expected to rejoin his Delhi Capitals teammates for their second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 30.
