The all-rounder Jamie Overton has been ruled out of the West Indies series due to a broken finger.
He sustained the injury during the first ODI of the West Indies tour of England 2025, where the hosts secured a 238-run victory. The incident happened after bowling his second ball in the over, where he aimed for a catch from Keacy Carty’s bat and immediately sprinted off the field for treatment.
Jacob Bethell completed Overton’s over, though he did return to the field later in the innings.
He was heavily strapped to finish with England’s best figures of 3 for 22 in 5.2 overs. The injury appeared at the time to be a dislocation, but it has since been confirmed as a fracture.
