India to play multi-format series against South Africa Women in June; Bengaluru, Chennai to host

BCCI is set to host South Africa Women to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and one Test game between June 16 and July 9 across two different venues in India. Chennai and Bengaluru will host the entire series.

The 3 match ODI series match will be played on June 16 in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the action will shift to M. A. Chidambaram Stadium where the only test and 3-match T20I series will be played.

Chennai will host a women’s Test match for the first time since 1976 when West Indies played a Test against India. It will mark only the third Test between the sides, with the previous one coming in Mysore almost a decade ago.

The three-match T20I series will lay a strong foundation for both teams for their preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20I World Cup 2024 set to be played in Bangladesh.

The first ODI match will be played on June 16 while the second and third ODI will be played on June 19 and 23 in Bengaluru. Post the 3 match ODI series, the only test will be played between June 28 and July.

The first match of the 3-match T20I series will be played on July 5 while the consecutive matches will be played on July 7 and 9 at Chapauk Stadium.
