Justin Langer on KL Rahul’s World Cup Chances

KL Rahul has played T20Is during the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, and his T20 World Cup will increase if he can lead the franchise well in the upcoming season of the IPL.

The LSG head coach Justin Langer hopes that KL Rahul will be available for their first match against Rajasthan Royals of the campaign. Langer suggested if he can lead their first title, it means that he would have a good chance as a batter and wicketkeeper.

The former Aussie opener feels that players like KL Rahul and Ravi Bishnoi, focusing more on their performances for the franchise for the IPL will boost their chances in the upcoming events in the USA and Caribbean.

“If KL can captain LSG to the IPL title, that means he would have captained well, batted well, and kept wickets well. The message for players like KL and Bishi (Bishnoi) would be that the more they concentrate on doing well for LSG, their chances (of T20 World Cup) will increase,” said Langer.

“He’ll be around for the first time to be with the boys and to be with the team. Everyone’s looking forward to seeing him. We know he has worked very hard to tick off all his return-to-play protocols.”

“He’s worked very hard. He’s been practicing, he’s been hitting lots of balls. He’s hopefully ready to go. It’s going to be nice to have the captain with us.”
