Harbhajan Singh has been disappointed with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) giving their go-ahead to the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 and facing Pakistan in the continental tournament after the tensions between the countries.
Ever since the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, the calls continue to grow, asking India to boycott Pakistan at every level. It was widely speculated that India would pull out of the Men’s Asia Cup and boycott the games against Pakistan.
However, everyone was left surprised when the schedule for the Asia Cup came out in the public domain. India and Pakistan are likely to play three times against each other in the Asia Cup.
The IND vs PAK clash in the group stage is set to be played on September 14. If they make it that far, the two teams will then meet in the Super 4s and final.
Harbhajan Singh was caught in the middle of a huge storm ahead of the World Championship Legends (WCL 2025) between the Indian Champions and Pakistan Champions. A huge social media storm caused the match to be called off.

Organisers came up with an official statement, saying that some of the Indian stars such as Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Irfan Pathan had already made themselves available for the contest, citing national interest.
India champions also pulled out of the semifinal game against Pakistan, giving the latter a walkover into the final, where they eventually lost against South Africa.
Speaking to the media, Turbantor said, “They need to understand what is important and what is not. This is as simple as that. For me, the soldier who stands on the border, whose family often doesn’t get to see him, who sometimes sacrifices his life and never returns home — their sacrifice is so immense for all of us.”
“Compared to that, this is a very small thing, that we can’t skip playing one cricket match. It’s a very small matter,” concluded Harbhajan Singh.
India will begin their Asia Cup campaign against UAE on September 10 at Dubai International Stadium.
