Ashleigh Gardner who impressed everyone with her performance with bat and bowl led Gujarat Giants to a six-wicket win over UP Warriorz in the WPL 2025.
Her all-rounder performance helped Gujarat Giants secure their first win in the third edition of the tournament. Gardner picked up two wickets and smashed fifty during the match which played a pivotal role in the match.
Opting to bowl first, Gujarat exhibited a bowling performance to restrict UP Warriorz for 143 runs. Priya Mishra excelled with three wickets, alongside Garnder and Dottin who picked two wickets.

Chasing the target of the 144, Gujarat suffered a early set back losing the wickets of openers. Gardner’s steady innings, complemented by Laura Wolvaardt’s play turned the play for the side.
Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin ensured a smooth victory with two overs to spare. Ashleigh Gardner was named as the Player of the Match.
Speaking at the post match conference, Ashleigh said, “Very pleased, we weren’t very far away in the other game. To play this brand of cricket and winning today’s game at home feels special.”
“Our bowlers did a great job and someone like Priya Mishra taking 3 wickets in just her second WPL game was brilliant. (On her plans with the ball) The stumps hopefully, I feel I probably missed it in a couple of games.”
“If you miss your lengths and lines here, the ball travels. Individual assessment, everyone has their own method to do batting.”
“You see Dottin clears her front leg and whacks sixes and someone like Deol is methodical in her approach. We have a deep batting lineup and hopefully you will see the best of it still.”
