The Sharjah Warriorz have added wk-batter Dinesh Karthik for the ILT20 2025-26 season, and he will be replacing Kusal Mendis in the squad.
Having won the IPL title with the Mumbai Indians in 2013, Karthik was a member of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.
Over the years, Dinesh Karthik has sharpened his leadership skills, becoming batting coach for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who won their maiden IPL title in the 2025 season.
Karthik, who worked with Tim David in RCB, is the overseas singing for the Sharjah Warriorz in season 04.
“I am very excited to be joining the Sharjah Warriorz team for the ILT20 tournament. I know they are a young team, aspiring to do some special things, and I am happy to be here. Sharjah is also one of those iconic stadiums one always wants to play at. And to be a part of the franchise Sharjah Warriorz, makes a dream come true,” Karthik said in a statement.

The 40-year old has good form in T20s. Having played 412 games, he has score 7537 runs at an average of 27.01 and a strike rate of 136.66 having a high score of 97* and 35 half centuries in the format.
The Sharjah Warriorz head coach JP Duminy has revealed that the signing the experienced player will guide young players.
“Dinesh Karthik is one of the most experienced hands and an incredibly innovative mind when it comes to T20 cricket, and I am chuffed to have him in our corner for the upcoming edition of the DP World ILT20,” said JP Duminy.
“The whole world has seen what he is capable of with the bat, and his explosive batting, dynamic personality, and immense experience will surely benefit the younger players significantly during the course of the tournament. I look forward to working with him closely,” Duminy said.
Sharjah Warriorz will begin their campaign against Abu Dhabi on December 03 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
