CA Central Contract for 2025-26 Season: Australia has revealed the 23 players who received the central contracts for the 2025-26 season where Marcus Stoinis and Tim David were excluded.
The CA Central Contract 2025-26 season has some new additions – Youngster Sam Konstas, left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann, and All-rounder Beau Webster.
The trio has shown some good cricket in their ways in the ongoing season, where they made a strong impact at crucial junctures for the national side.
Kuhnemann was the Player of the Series in Australia’s remarkable away test series win in Sri Lanka, returning 16 wickets in those two wickets. Despite being reported for a suspected bowling action, Kuhnemann was cleared after testing at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane.
“Matt was outstanding in Sri Lanka, and we believe he can play a key role over the next 18 months,” Bailey said.
On the other hand, Sam Konstas made a memorable debut during the Melbourne Boxing Day Test against India scoring 60 runs off 65 balls, including six fours and two sixes.
“In Sam, we see promising upside in a young player who will continue to develop at First-Class level and in the international environment,” said Australia’s chair of selectors, George Bailey.
All-rounder Beau Webster who made his test debut in the fifth India test in Sydney, was retained after upgraded to the contracted list last season. He impressed with both bat and ball, contributing in the field and adding balance to the side.
“In Beau’s case, he proved more than comfortable at Test level with bat and ball, adding an additional dimension in the field and to the balance of the side,” Bailey said.
“With Cameron Green and Mitch Marsh returning there will be welcome and healthy competition for places for the World Test Championship and West Indies tours,” added Bailey.
