Star batter Virat Kohli has joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad ahead of the IPL 2025 season on Saturday.
The 36-year-old played a crucial role in India’s Champions Trophy triumph recently and is set to return to action for the 18th season of the IPL.
Kohli joined the RCB camp to rest after Champions Trophy exploits. RCB had been dropping hints on their social platforms, pointing towards the arrival of the Indian start at the team’s base.
Virat Kohli returned back to form during the Champions Trophy for India as he scored 218 runs from 5 matches at an average of 54.50. Despite starting with a lacklustre performance, he bounced back with a hundred against Pakistan.

He scored a impressive 84 run knock against Australia in the semi finals of the Champions Trophy and will now turn his attention towards IPL. Virat kohli is the higesht run getter in the IPL and will be aiming to retain Orange Cap this year also.
Despite a lot of rumours, Virat Kohli supported Rajat Patidar who took over RCB captaincy. The franchise said Kohli doesn’t need the captaincy tag to lead the side.
“Of course, Virat was an option. That goes without saying, and I know that the fans would have probably lent towards Virat in the first instance, but we have seen a lot of love for Rajat too… Virat doesn’t need a captaincy title to lead,” said Mo Bobat.
