The Gujarat Titans captain, Shubman Gill, has provided a major update on the return of South African pacer Kagiso Rabada ahead of the start of the IPL 2025 game against Delhi Capitals.
According to the GT captain, Rabada has confirmed that Kagiso Rabada is likely to return to the side only by the last week of April. Rabada continued to miss game time with Gill later confirming that the South African quick is expected to be back with the squad in about 10 days.
Speaking in the toss during the match against Delhi, Shubman Gill said, “We will bowl first,” Gill said at the toss. “It is very hot. The wicket looks very good. If you don’t keep much grass, it would crack up.”
“Things have been going well. We don’t think much about the past. It is about turning up on the day. It takes a couple of weeks for the team to gel in. We are going with the same team. Hopefully, Rabada will come back in 10 days or so,” Gill said.
Despite, Rabada’s absence, Ishant Sharma has stepped up for GT and continues to be a part of their playing 11.
GT bought Rabada for a price for INR 10.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He joined the Shubman Gill-led side after spending three seasons at Punjab Kings. The 29-year old has played 82 IPL games and picked 119 wickets to his name at an average of 22.29.
