The all-rounder Shardul Thakur is set to sign an Indian Premier League (IPL) after being unsold in the 2025 mega auction.
Thakur has been involved in the LSG’s preparations for the IPL 2025 and will be replacing injured Mohsin Khan. With the official replacement is yet to be made, it is learnt that Shardul Thakur will be travelling with the side to Visakhapatnam for their season opener.
Mohsin Khan has picked up an ACL injury which has impaired him from featuring in any cricket for the last three months, and then had calf strain when he resumed bowling in the LSG nets.
With their core group of seamers still recovering at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’ Centre of Excellence the management was forced to take the call on an injury replacement.

Shardul Thakur has picked up 94 wickets and scored 307 runs in the IPL career, after getting released from CSK ahead of the mega auction, the star suprisingly failed to find any buyers in the mega auction last year.
Shardul Thakur made his international debut in 2017 and played 11 tests, 47 ODIs and 25 T20s for Men in Blues.
The right armer, who donned the CSK jersey last season, was released by the franchise ahead of the auction last November. He picked only five wickets in nine games and scored 21 runs.
He attracted no bids, even from his previous teams and was recalled on Day 02 of the event but went unsold again.
Lucknow Super Giants will play their first match of the IPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals on March 24 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
