KKR vs SRH Probable Playing 11: Kolkata who has won 9 matches and lost only three out of their 14 league matches, won the qualifiers 01 against Hyderabad and advanced to the finals.
On the other hand, Hyderabad has won eight matches in the group stages and placed in second place in the points table. They lost the first qualifiers against Kolkata but were able to win the qualifiers 02 against Rajasthan Royals to get a spot in the finals.
Both teams have clashed twice in the IPL 2024 where Hyderabad is yet to register their victory against Kolkata. They lost the league match by 4 runs difference while they lost the qualifiers 01 match by 8 wickets.
“I think data and analytics is there as a tool to use but it’s just one factor in the decision-making process. In T20 you play a lot of games but no two games are exactly the same. It’s different wickets, different oppositions, different forms so data can only take you so far. I think there’s still a strong place for gut feel and intuition,” said Pat Cummins.
“To be honest, I feel whatever the nature is going to provide to you at that particular point of time… if it [dew] has to happen, it will happen. You have no control over it. All you have control over is your skills and your abilities and how strong your mindset is tomorrow. I think basically you should focus on that rather than the dew factor,” said Shreyas Iyer.
