Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders both still haven’t registered a victory in this Indian Premier League 2025 season.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and opted to field first. During the toss, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said “We’ll look to bowl first. The wicket looks good. Dew factor is huge here. It’s about staying positive and playing fearlessly. We learnt a lot from the previous game. Sunil Narine misses out, he’s not well. Moeen Ali comes in”.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag said “Very proud, very humbled (to be leading RR). The middle-order really stepped up. A lot of positives with the ball as well. One change. Hasaranga comes in, Farooqi steps out”.

In their first match this season, KKR conceded their second-highest powerplay score (80/0) in IPL history, only behind the 93/1 by PBKS during their record 262-run chase at Eden Gardens last year.
Anrich Nortje has been significantly more effective in the IPL in the UAE (34 wickets in 24 matches, at 20.55, economy 7.65) than in India (26 wickets in 22 matches, at 33.65, economy 10.37).
The flick has been Rahane’s most effective stroke against pace in IPL since 2023, a shot he put to good use against RCB the other night.
