    Hardik Pandya secures maiden IPL fifer; becomes first captain to achieve this feat

    Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya registered his maiden IPL five-wickets haul during the LSG vs MI clash on 4 April in Lucknow.

    Hardik Pandya dismissed Pooran(12), Rishabh Pant(2), Markram(53), David Miller(27) and Akash Deep(0) to claim his maiden IPL five-wickets haul. Notably, Hardik Pandya becomes the first captain to pick five wickets haul in IPL history.

    Speaking of the match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram opened the inning for LSG while Boult opened the bowling attack for Mumbai Indians.

    Mitchell Marsh made an aggressive start and dominated the Mumbai Indians bowlers. Notably, Mitchell got an early life in the fourth delivery of the first over as none of the opponents made an appeal for the caught behind.

    At the end of 10 overs, LSG managed to score 100 runs for two wickets. In the next over, Hardik Pandya made another breakthrough by dismissing Pant for two runs. Ayush Badoni and Aiden Markram started to build a partnership and scored 46 runs in the next five overs.

    Ashwani Kumar in the 16th over, broke the partnership by dismissing Badoni for 30 runs. But Markram on the other hand, continued the momentum and secured his IPL fifty but in the fifth ball of the 18th over, Hardik Pandya dismissed Markram for 53 runs and put an end to his long-standing inning.

    With a couple of wickets in the final over, Hardik Pandya registered his first fifer in the IPL tournament and contained LSG with a score of 203 runs for 8 wickets.
