GT Captain in IPL 2025: The 2022 winners Gujarat Titans had a disappointing campaign during the 2024 season as they finished in the 8th place with a win percentage of 41.67%.
Gujarat failed to qualify for the playoffs as they managed to win only five games out of the 14 league matches.
After securing the title in their inaugural season in 2022, they completed as runners in the 2023 season. With an interesting turn of events, Gujarat has retained five players ahead of the auction.

GT captain in IPL 2025: The 2022 seasonal winners Gujarat Titans have retained Shubman Gill as their captain ahead of the mega auction. Shubman Gill has been named as the captain of Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025 while Rashid Khan named as the vice-captain.
After Hardik Pandya moved to MI ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Shubman Gill has been named as the captain of the franchise. Ahead of IPL 2022 auction, Gill was drafted by the newly formed franchise for INR 8 crore.
Shubman Gill scored 483 runs in the 2022 season where the side defeated Rajasthan Royals in the finals to win the title. He had a tremendous IPL season in 2023, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches at a strike rate of 157.80.
But his 2024 outing was not up to the mark as he scored only 426 runs in 12 matches.

IPL 2025
As per IPL 2025 schedule the first match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 22 March 2025 in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to be played between 21 March and 25 May 2025 in India. IPL teams will be categorised into two groups of five teams where a total of 70 group matches will be played before the playoff round.
The IPL 2025 will follow a Group stage and Playoffs format with the top four teams in the IPL 2025 points table advancing to the playoffs round.
Right before the tournament, as expected, the IPL 2025 withdrawal players list starts to fill while the respective team will name the replacement players for the IPL 2025 season.
