The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has trimmed the IPL 2026 auction players list from 1355 to 350 players and also added some new additions, including Quinton de Kock, ahead of the mini auction at Abu Dhabi.
De Kock, who has recently made himself available for international selection and has also scored a hundred against India, has registered for a fee of INR 1 crore, which is half of his previous base price of INR 2 crore last season.
The auction will begin with capped players, starting with batsmen, all-rounders, wicket-keeper batsmen, fast bowlers, and spinners. After that, the uncapped players round will begin.
Cameron Green has been considered as one of the most sought-after players in the first set of the IPL auction, has been placed in the BA1 lot.
Meanwhile, several core players like Devon Conway, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, Prithvi Shaw, and David Miller will be entering the auction.
“The auction will feature 350 players and will commence at 1 pm UAE time (2:30 pm IST) on Tuesday, 16 December, at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi,” said BCCI in a statement.
According to the report, the bidding process will start with a full round of capped players in the order of specialism – batters, all-rounders, wk-batters, fast bowlers, and spin bowlers. The same will be followed for the uncapped players.

“The first accelerated will cover all the players from 71-350. Once these players have been presented, franchises will be requested to submit the names of the players (unpresented and unsold) from all those on the full list of 350 for further accelerated presentation,” the BCCI said.
Several players released ahead of this auction have chosen the top price of INR 2 crore. On the other hand, several marquee players – Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Andre Russell have opted out of the tournament due to various reasons.
On the other hand, Josh Inglis has confirmed that he will be available for 25% of the 2026 season due to personal reasons.
