The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A squad for the multi-format tour of Australia, where Shafali Verma is set to return to action in ODI format.
Meanwhile, Shreyanka Patil and Titas Sadhu are in line to make a comeback following their layoffs with injuries.
Verma, who made her last appearance in the ODI against New Zealand in Ahmedabad in October 2024, was dropped from the squad due to a poor run where she scored only 108 runs in six ODIs last year.
She returned to the T20I side for the ongoing five-match series against England but will not feature in the three-match ODI series to follow. Returning to the action, her performance could push her chances for a spot in the squad for the home ODI World Cup later this year.
Meanwhile, Shreyanka Patil is back into action following a long set of injuries which commenced during last year’s Women’s Asia Cup.
She featured in the subsequent T20 World Cup in the UAE but missed the Women’s Premier League (WPL), earlier this year.
The spin-bowling all-rounder’s inclusion is pending to medical clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence following a structure she sustained during the national bowlers camp in Bengaluru last month. However Patil has been named in the T20 squad.
Titas Sadhu has also returned from an unknown injury which she suffered after the WPL. The injury saw her miss India’s subsequent tour to Sri Lanka for a tri-series back in April and May this year.
Radha Yadav has been named as the captain with Minnu Mani will be serving as her deputy. Legspinner Priya Mishra has been named in the one-day and four day squads, has been subjected to a fitness clearance from the BCCI CoE.
