Trinbago Knight Riders went on to secured a 3 wicket win in the CPL 2025 finals played against Guyana Amazon Warriors to clinch their fifth CPL title.
They went on to chase the target in the 18th over on Monday’s clash. Batting first, Ben McDermott and Quentin Sampson will open the innings while Russell opened the bowling attack.
Andre Russell went on to bag the wicket of Quentin Sampson for duck while McDermott went on to score 28 runs by Netravalkar.
With Shai Hope and Moeen Ali went on make 41 runs off in the powerplay. Despite Shimron Hetmyer’s dismissal for 4 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed and Pretorius tried to stablise the innings with 30 and 25 runs in the innings.
By the end of 20 overs, Guyana Amazon Warriors went on to score 130 runs in 20 over innings.
Saurabh Netravalkar went on to bag three wickets while Akeal Hosein bagged 2 wickets each. Andre Russell and Usman Tariq went on to bag one wickets each.
In the pursuit of chasing 131 run target, Colin Munro and Alex Hales opened the innings for Trinbago Knight Riders while Dwaine Pretorius opened the bowling attack.

With the decent start from opener duo, Knight Riders went on to score 45 runs in the powerplay. Darren Bravo, Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard went on to make decent contributions helping the side march toward victory.
With Akeal Hosein’s cameo, Trinbago Knight Riders went on complete the chase in the 18th over.
Akeal Hosein was named Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match conference, Hosein said, “Very special this award. For 5 years we have been really hungry, there has been lots of talk about ages in our group but experience will talk and really happy to get this win.”
“I told one of my mates that I am gonna get him (Hope) and that’s what I set my mind to. I do a lot of homework and there is a lot of assistance for spinners in this pitch, so it is about execution.”
“In the last couple of games from my perspective things have gone horribly for me and Sunil Narine stuck by my side day in and day out, really happy that I can perform like this and make him smile and get over the line for him today.”
“Before I went out, Nicky P just said whatever the situation is just back yourself. I just backed myself and tried to execute (talking about the last 2 boundaries),” concluded Akeal Hosein.
