Shreyanka Patil ruled out of WPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)have named Sneh Rana as a replacement for the injured Shreyanka Patil in WPL 2025.
Shreyanka, who has played 15 matches for RCB and has scalped 19 wickets, is ruled out of the third edition of the WPL due to an injury.
It has been learnt that all-rounder Sneh Rana has joined the RCB squad and has been with the team for the past few days. Notably, her replacement Sneh Rana had been unsold in the latest WPL auction after being released by the Gujarat Giants.
“Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday picked Sneh Rana as a replacement for Shreyanka Patil for the remainder of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025.
Shreyanka, who has played 15 matches for RCB and has scalped 19 wickets, is ruled out of the third edition of the TATA WPL due to an injury.
Rana, who is an all-rounder, has previously played for Gujarat Giants (GG) in the TATA WPL. She joins RCB for INR 30 Lakh,” the WPL release said on Saturday.
RCB continues to grapple with a growing list of injuries. Their spin attack has been significantly weakened by the absence of Shreyanka, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Sobhana.
In addition to that, both Kate Cross and New Zealand’s 2024 World Cup-winning captain, Sophie Devine, have withdrawn from the squad.
With multiple players leaving RCB, the defending champions are left out with Prema Rawat, Georgia Wareham, Charlie Dean, and Kanika Ahuja in their spin bowling unit in the absence of Shreyanka, Sobhana, and Molineux.
As of now, RCB has won their first match of the tournament and placed at the top of the WPL 2025 points table. Mandhana and Co will play their next match of the season against Delhi Capitals Women on 17 February in Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara.
