The English cricketer Sam Billings has ignited a controversy by playfully trolling Babar Azam, comparing his own fastest fifty to the slowest fifty from the latter in the PSL 2025.
Billings shared an Instagram post showing a comparison of his record for the fastest fifty in the tournament to Babar’s unwanted feat of the slowest fifty in the tournament.
Sam Billings, who played for Lahore Qalandars, smashed a blistering half century in just 19 balls against Quetta Gladiators, the fastest in the year’s PSL.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam has made a fifty during the game against Islamabad United, marking an unwanted record for the seasoned Pakistani batsman in the T20 format.
Babar Azam of Peshawar Zalmi scored the slowest half-century of the tournament, which came in 47 balls. Babar Azam has been criticised heavily lately for his low strike rate during the crucial phases of the game.
The comparison post shared by Sam Billings had caption stating that, “Two knocks of a very different nature, both of which came in the winning cause.”

The PSL 2025 has been suspended due to escalating IND-PAK tension due to border tensions.
Meanwhile, the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has revealed that the tournament will resume on May 17 with the finals to be played on May 25.
The development comes after both countries came to a ceasefire agreement, which helped both sides to calm the situation, which escalated when an Indian drone crashed near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, prompting the tournament to be postponed in support of Pakistan’s armed forces.
With PCB expected the return of overseas players due to no international fixtures during PSL window, several foreign players are unwilling to rejoin the tournament, it would be important to see how teams work out with their playing combinations.
As the tournament resumes, the fans are eagerly anticipating thrilling performances and high stakes encounters in the race of PSL 2025 title.
