Rashid Khand and Sam Curran has shined during the opener match of The Hundred 2025 competition during the match between Oval Invincibles and London Invincibles.
They went on to shared 25 dot balls between them in 39 deliveries and picked three wickets each to give a kick start for Invincibles.
After folding Spirit for just 80 runs, the Invincibles took only 69 deliveries to wrap a six wicket win at Lord’s.
Rashid Khan picked up 3 wickets while conceding just 11 runs from his 20 balls. He dismissed key middle order batters, Wayne Madsen, Liam Dawson, and Ryan Higgins, just when the spirit were looking to steady their innings. His 2.75 economy was the best in the match and proved decisive in restricting Spirit to 80 runs.

Batting first, London Spirit’s top order Jennings, Warner, and Williamson went on to get dismissed cheaply, while Madsen and Turner scored double digit scores. With Ryan Higgins scoring 12 runs, other batter went on to lose their wickets for single digit scores.
In pursuit of chasing the target, Will Jacks and Muyeye opened the innings where they went on to score 24 and 18 before being dismissed by Liam Dawson.
With Jordon Cox and Sam Curran dismissed for 5 and 14 by Daniel Worrall and Turner respectively, Billings and Ferreira went on to complete the game in the 69th ball.
Rashid Khan was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match conference, he said, “It was nice to get off to a winning start, it was good to perform for the side.”
“(On the reason for his break after the IPL) Physically and mentally to get myself ready for the next competition, IPL is a long tournament, it helped me to think how to prepare going ahead,” he added.
“It was a good surface, there was spin on offer, when I was bowling I was trying to hit the right areas. I mixed things up and it worked out well.”
“(On the importance of experience) It does help a lot, in a competition like this when things happen so quickly, it helps. I haven’t bowled in the last couple of months but the amount of cricket I have played in the last ten years, that really helps,” he concluded.
The second match will be played between Manchester Originals and Southern Brave on August 06 at Emirates Old Trafford.
