    Nitish Reddy Likely to play Ranji Trophy Games after Impressive BGT Debut

    The Indian all-rounder Nitish Reddy who had a stellar run during the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy is set to play in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

    Nitish impressed the fans with his consistent batting including his maiden test century and was the second highest run-scorer for India in the BGT.

    With BCCI, experts and former Indian cricketers keep repeating the importance of domestic cricket to flourish on the international stage, India all-rounder Nitish Reddy is likely to play in the second phase of the Ranji Trophy, which begins later this month and will allow him a two-week break post a gruelling one and a half months of Test cricket in Australia.

    Prasidh Krishna, Devdutt Padikkal and Washington Sundar will be available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout matches, starting in Vadodara after featuring in the recent Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

    KL Rahul who played all the five test matches against the Aussies, has requested for a break and will skip the Hazare knockouts.

    Rahul’s availability for the second phase of the Ranji Trophy, will be decided at a later date. India head coach Gautam Gambhir has recently expressed his desire to see frontline Indian players making themselves available for the remainder of the domestic red-ball tournament.

    Washington, though, could link up with Tamil Nadu only if the team progresses to the semifinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
