The Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy dominated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 game and helped the side restrict their arch-rivals to 127 runs in their 20-over innings.
A combined bowling performance from the bowlers has helped the Men in Blues trouble Pakistan batters in the Sunday clash.
Batting first, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan opened the innings for Pakistan while Hardik Pandya opened the bowling attack.
Pandya made a stunning dismissal of Saim Ayub on a golden duck while Bumrah picked the wicket of Mohammad Haris for 3 runs. With two dismissals, Pakistan went on to score 42 runs in the powerplay in the back of Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman knocks.
However, Axar Patel picked the wickets of Zaman and Salman Agha for 17 and 3 while Kuldeep Yadav picked the wickets of Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz for 5 and duck.
Pakistan suffered a mini collapse losing 6 wickets for 64 runs. However, Sahibzada Farhan and Faheem Ashraf were in the pursuit of stabilising the innings.
But Kuldeep went on to break the partnership dismissing Farhan for 40 runs. With the dismissal of Ashraf for 11 runs, Shaheen went on to score 33 runs off 16 deliveries which included 4 sixes.
With Sufiyan Muqeem’s 10 runs, Pakistan were able to post 127 runs in their 20 over innings.
Kuldeep Yadav picked three wickets while, Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets each. Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy ended with 1 dismissals each.

Speaking at the toss, Salman Agha said, “Going to bat first. We’ve been playing good cricket, very excited. Looks like a slow wicket. Just want to bat first and put runs on the board. Same side. Have been here for 20-odd days and are used to the conditions.”
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav said, “We were looking to bowl first, happy with it. We played just one strip away, was a nice wicket and better to bat on in the night. It’s humid so hoping for some dew. Same team.”
