Kemar Roach ruled out of England Test series

West Indies pacer Kemar Roach has been ruled out of the upcoming West Indies tour of England 2024 due to an injury. Cricket West Indies have named Jeremiah Louis as his replacement for the series.

West Indies tour of England 2024 will be played between July 10 and 30 with a total of three Test matches to be played at three different venues in England. The Test series will form part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.

The first match of the series will be played between July 10 and 14 in Lord’s while the second and third will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham and Edgbaston, Birmingham respectively.

The official statement reveals that Kemar Roach sustained a ‘knee injury’ during the ongoing County Championship, forcing him to miss the three Tests. Kemar Roach had signed up with Surrey for the season and had featured in six matches so far for the team.

“Kemar’s skill and experience in English conditions will be missed however this opportunity has been long in the making for Jeremiah Louis, he certainly has the skill and experience to make an impact in England,” Desmon Haynes, the lead selector was quoted as saying in a media statement.

The uncapped 28-year-old Jeremiah Louis joins the team with a First Class experience of 57 matches spanning over ten years for St Kitts and Nevis. In 57 FC appearances, Jeremiah Louis bagged 151 wickets at an economy of 3.06.
