Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has joined Hampshire as an overseas signing ahead of the inaugural Tier One County competition.
The all-rounder will be available for six T20 Blast fixtures as well as two One Day Cup matches. Should Hampshire qualify for the T20 Blast Finals Day, Perry will be available to play.
The following month, Ellyse Perry will also feature for the Edgbaston-based Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred. Perry’s signing will be a huge boost up for Hampshire, much like when they first snapped up Shane Warne for the men’s domestic game in 1999.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the Hampshire team this summer,” Perry told the club’s website. “The club has been a leader within the women’s game for the last ten years and I’m excited to have the opportunity join the team at such an exciting time for domestic cricket in England.”
Ellyse Perry has played 337 international matches for Australia across 17-year career with 323 of those appearances coming in ODIs and T20s. She has scored 4187 runs and taken wickets in ODIs, as well as 2173 runs and 126 wickets in T20s.
Paul Prichard, Hampshire Women’s interim head coach added: “Ellyse is one of the world’s best cricketers and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team this summer. Her record across all formats speaks for itself and she will add a tremendous amount of value on and off the pitch.
“Our group of young players will learn so much from Ellyse and I know our fans will be incredibly excited to see her in a Hawks shirt,” concluded Hampshire Women’s interim head coach Paul Prichard.
Ellyse Perry is set to make her Hampshire debut at Chesterfield on July 04 before played at Utilita Bowl debut for the Hawks against Somerset on July 06.
