Dan Christian is considered a T20 cricket specialist and has played for franchises all over the globe. Christian is known as a powerful hitter and a useful medium pacer.

Dan Christian made his T20 International debut against the West Indies on February 2010. The following month, he was selected as a member of Australia’s squad for the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

“Yesterday (Friday) at training I told by Sydney Sixers teammates that I’ll be retiring from playing at the end of the BBL season,” the pace-bowling all-rounder, who will turn 40 in May this year, posted on Twitter on Saturday.

Christian lifted the 2010 England T20 Cup with Hampshire. He won T20 Big Bash with South Australia (2011), before winning BBL with Brisbane Heat (2013), Renegades (2019), and Sixers (2021).

Christian has also won T20 Blast twice with Notts Outlaws (2017 and 2020). He won Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2017 with Trinbago Knight Riders while winning SA Super League 2018 with Jozi Stars.

“Hopefully we can go all the way again this season, but regardless it’s been a great run. I’ve achieved things and made some memories that I could have only dreamt of as a kid.

What I didn’t expect to learn as a kid though is how many people I was going to come in contact with that have had an influence on my career and ended up becoming lifelong friends. I’m looking forward to now having the time to catch up with you all and not having to use the excuse ‘sorry, I’ve got cricket’,” the post read.

Notably, Dan Christian was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a sum of USD 100,000 and joined them for their IPL6 season.

Dan Christian so far has played for Australia, Hampshire, South Australia, Deccan Chargers, Brisbane Heat, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gloucestershire, Victoria, Middlesex, Hobart Hurricanes, Nottinghamshire, Rising Pune Supergiant, Trinbago Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Jozi Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Multan Sultans, Dublin Chiefs, Barbados Royals, Prime Ministers XI, Ponting XI, Sydney Sixers, Karachi Kings.

In August 2021, Dan Christian scored 30 runs off an over bowled by left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan as part of a 15-ball 39 scored against Bangladesh, to become the first Australian to hit five sixes in a single over of a T20 international.
