Bangladesh is set to host India Women’s Team in a five-match T20I series in April-May 2024 set to be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

According to the draft prepared by the BCB, all the matches are scheduled to be played between April 28 and May 09. The Indian team will be traveling to Bangladesh on April 25 to play in the series which is not part of the ICC FTP.

The Bangladesh series will begin a couple of weeks after Australia’s tour of Bangladesh in 2024. India won the ODI and T20I series in the previous meeting of BANW vs INDW played on July 2023.

During the 3rd ODI match, the Indian women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur was handed a two-match suspension due to her heated argument with umpire Tanvir Ahmed. She was also handed three demerit points for her behavior.

Australia’s tour of Bangladesh will start with the first ODI match on March 21. The series will be including a three-match ODIs and T20Is which will be concluded on April 04.

The entire series will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Australian players Who are participating in the ongoing WPL season will be joining the side on March 16. The players who feature in the finals of the WPL 2024 schedule will be joining the side after March 17.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s newly appointed head of women’s cricket said that it is an opportunity for Bangladesh to prepare for the next T20 World Cup which is set to be hosted by the country in October.

“I think this will be an opportunity for us to know where we stand ahead of the T20 World Cup by playing against Australia and India,” said Habibul.

“We are looking forward to competing against them and if we can achieve a positive result, certainly it will boost the confidence of our team considering everyone knows the value of beating teams like India and Australia.”

Bangladesh women’s team will start their preparations for the upcoming home series against Australia in Dhaka from February 28 to March 02. They will be participating in a fitness camp in Khulna starting on March 04.
