Meanwhile Sikandar Raza said, “We wanted to bat first. I think Bulawayo has a bit different challenge than Harare. We’re looking at the wicket and the way it has been for the last couple of days as well. I think it’s a very good wicket to bat on. Second innings, hopefully it gets slower with the composition.”
“So, yeah, we wanted to put runs on the board and see where we get to. Also, I think for us to take the next step with where the world cricket is going is to match the intensity of world cricket, we need to be very comfortable scoring high runs and batting first. And from the last World Cup, that’s a lesson I learned, and that’s where I want Zimbabwe to go.”
“We’ve got three seamers, myself, and we’ve got plenty of all-rounders to make the rest of the overs. So today we’re going to play with eight batters and three seamers.”
