    A brilliant knock from Tilak Varma and a cameo from Will Jacks set up the Mumbai Indians’ 6-wicket victory against the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026 at Dharamsala.

    Tilak Varma (75*) and Will Jacks (25*) have revived the side from a mini collapse, setting up a thrilling victory on Thursday’s clash. Despite securing a win, they remain in the 9th position of the IPL 2026 points table.

    After being invited to bat first, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings while Deepak Chahar opened the bowling attack.

    The duo did make a decent start, scoring 50 runs for the first wicket. Deepak Chahar brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Priyansh Arya for 22 runs.

    He got dismissed on a pace delivery with an inswinger where Arya missed the ball completely and got bowled out on the top of the leg stump.

    Cooper Connolly who came to bat at No. 3 joined Prabhsimran Singh at the crease. In the meantime, Prabhsimran Singh smashed his fifty and scored 57 runs off 31 deliveries before being dismissed by Shardul Thakur.

    He got dismissed on a thick outside edge as Corbin Bosch picked the catch. Shardul Thakur bagged the wicket of Shreyas Iyer for 4 runs. He got bowled out as the ball sneaked past the outside edge to hit the top of the off stump.

    Cooper Connolly who scored 21 runs, got bowled out by Raj Bawa as Mumbai Indians lost four wickets for 111 runs.

    Shardul Thakur bagged his third wicket dismissing Suryansh Shedge for 8 runs leaving Punjab Kings clueless. They lost four wickets for scoring 16 runs.

    Corbin Bosch added worries to PBKS after dismissing Shashank Singh for 2 runs on a lbw. Shardul Thakur bagged his fourth wicket dismissing Marco Jansen for 2 runs while Deepak Chahar bagged the wicket of Azmatullah Omarzai for 38 runs.

    He got dismissed on a slower ball where Will Jacks picked the catch at long on. A small cameo from Vishnu Vinod and Xavier Bartlett has helped the Punjab Kings to 200 runs in their innings.

    Shardul Thakur bagged four wickets while Deepak Chahar completed his spell with 2 wickets.

    Chasing 201 runs, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack.

    With a solid start from the openers, Mumbai Indians scored 59 runs in the powerplay. However, Azmatullah Omarzai bagged the first wicket dismissing Ryan Rickelton for 48 runs.

    He got dismissed on a full ball outside off where wk-batter hit it squarer and straighter in the hands of Priyansh Arya.

    Naman Dhir who came to bat at No.3, got dismissed by Marcon Jansen for 9 runs. He got dismissed on a short delivery where the ball hit the top edge behind square on the off-side. Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the wicket of Rohit Sharma for 25 runs.

    With the dismissal of Sherfane Rutherford for 20 runs, Mumbai Indians struggled with regular dismissals.

    However, a partnership from Tilak Varma and Will Jacks put Mumbai Indian close to victory.

    Tilak Varma smashed a 25-ball fifty and continued to bat as the side needed only 15 runs in the final over. Mumbai Indians secured a 6-wicket victory against Punjab Kings.

    Tilak Varma remained unbeaten with 75* runs off 33 deliveries while Will Jacks scored 25* runs off 10 deliveries.

    Mumbai Indians will play their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 20 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
