The opener KL Rahul went on to slam a stunning ton, ending his century drought at home during the 1st test against the West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium.
Resuming the game on day 02, India started the day at 121-2, lost the wicket of skipper Shubman Gill during the opening session. He completed his ton with a single in the 65th over, celebrating his helmet off and kissing the badge.
The Indian team will be pushing for a big lead in the first innings, as they aim to wrap up the Test within the first three days.
The Karnataka batter now has 10 test centuries as an opener for India, surpassing former India captain Rohit Sharma and current head coach Gautam Gambhir’s tally of nine centuries at the top.

Only Sunil Gavaskar (33), Virender Sehwag (22) and Murali Vijay (12) have recorded more hundreds as Test openers for India.
His century at home comes after 9 years since his test century against England in 2016. The 33-year old Rahul has begun the home season on a fine note.
Last week, Rahul cracked his first-class hundred in India since the 2016 Chennai Test with an unbeaten 176 in a scintillating 412-run chase against Australia A at the Ekana Stadium.
Despite inconsistencies in his test career, KL Rahul found a spot in the opening slot following the retirement of Rohit Sharma. Since then, Rahul has been on fine run making in the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He went on to score 532 runs in five tests, scoring two centuries and as many fifties.
Batting first, West Indies got bowled out for 162 runs on the back of Siraj’s four-fer. Along with him, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep yadav picked three and two wickets each respectively to rip up West Indies bowling unit.
