The ICC official online ticket selling site nearly went down right after they open the online counter for general ticket allocations.

The general ticket allocations for the India-Pakistan match scheduled for October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground sold out after 2,00,000 tickets were already sold during the pre-sale period.

As per the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 schedule, the tournament will take place between October 16, 2022 – November 13, 2022 with the first match between Sri Lanka vs Namibia – Round 1 match.

Notably, the sale for one of world cricket’s biggest rivalries India vs Pakistan match were sold within five minutes of going on sale. The biggest expectation of the match comes right after Pakistan beats India by 10 wickets in ICC T20 WC 2021 event last year.

The general ticket allocations for the India-Pakistan match scheduled for October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground sold out after 2,00,000 tickets were already sold during the pre-sale period.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will be played with a total of 45 matches in Australia later this year. Over 800,000 fans are expected to attend the global showcase for men’s T20 cricket when it comes to Australia for the first time, and there are still plenty of opportunities for fans to secure seats for all other fixtures in the general public sale.

“The response from the fans has been fantastic and we’re proud of the fact we were able to reward our fans who purchased tickets to the postponed event in 2020 and those who registered early with us to get priority access to tickets in the pre-sale,” said ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Local Organising Committee CEO Michelle Enright.

The Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is slated to be held in Australia between October 16- November 13 and it will be played across seven venues — Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Geelong, Hobart, and Perth.
