Travis Head Smashes his Fastest Fifty of IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals

The Southpaw Cricketer Travis Head who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024, has smashed a half-century in 16 balls and hit the fastest fifty of the ongoing season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has been impressive from the start of the ongoing campaign smashing the highest score of 287 in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Out of those, Travis Head has been impressive with the bat as he scored 62 runs on 24 deliveries during the match against MI.

During the match against RCB, Head smashed his first century of the tournament scoring 102 runs on 41 deliveries. In five matches he scored 235 runs in with a strike rate of 199.15.

After returning to IPL after six years, Travis Head has been one of the top performers for SRH.

Coming to the match, Delhi Capitals opted to bowl first, where Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opened for SRH smashing an impressive score of 125 runs by the end of power play. Travis Head smashed fifty in 16 balls while Abhishek has been also scoring with a strike rate above 350.

They had the best partnership stand for SRH smashing 131 runs for the first wicket. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram despite his expensive overs.

Abhishek Sharma scored 46 runs in 12 balls including two fours and 6 sixes while Aiden Markram was sent out with one run. Delhi Capitals bowlers Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, and Anrich Nortje had their economy over 15.

After Markram was sent to the dugout, Heinrich Klaasen came to the crease joining hands with Head who had scored 89 runs on 31 deliveries. Klaasen scored 14 runs on 6 deliveries and Kuldeep Yadav bagged the wicket of Head, entirely collapsing SRH’s top order.

On the other hand, Axar Patel bagged the wicket of Heinrich Klaasen on the first ball of his second over.

After the dismissal of Klaasen and Markram, Nitish Reddy scored 37 runs.

But Shahbaz Ahmed’s momentum in the field brought Hyderabad back into dominating position as he scored 59 runs off 29 deliveries including 2 fours and 5 sixes.

Despite, struggling to pick wickets, Kuldeep Yadav dismissed four crucial wickets helping the side to contain Hyderabad from reaching a 300+ score. Despite having an expensive spell with 55 runs, it was well well-needed dismissal in the match.

With responding to SRH’s 266 runs, Delhi Capitals had a positive start picking up runs from the first ball of the innings. But Hyderbad Bowlers was able to pick wickets at regular intervals.

Jake Fraser-McGurk has been marvellous with the bat smashing 65 runs in 18 deliveries including five fours and seven sixes with a strike rate of 361.11.

Abhishek Porel was the other scorer for Delhi Capitals smashing 42 runs in 22 deliveries. But both the scorers were sent out to the dugout by Mayank Markande.

With the dismissal of Tristan Stubbs for 10 runs, Delhi Capitals lost five wickets for scoring 154 runs.

With Stubbs’s dismissal, Delhi Capitals batting lineup collapsed with a fall of wickets. The Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant smashed 44 runs on 35 deliveries before being dismissed by Nitish Reddy in the first ball of the last over.

Natarajan picked up a four-wicket haul with an impressive economy of 4.80 while Nitish Reddy and Mayank Markande bagged two wickets each. Finally, Delhi Capitals scored only 199 runs and lost the match by 67 runs difference.
